BPD is committed to transparency, accountability, and strengthening trust within our community. To support this mission, all patrol officers are equipped with body-worn cameras (BWCs).

These devices serve as an important tool to:

  • Accurately document interactions between officers and the public.

  • Provide valuable evidence for investigations and court proceedings.

  • Enhance training and performance review.

  • Promote openness by allowing for independent review of police activity.

Body-worn cameras are activated during calls for service, traffic stops, enforcement actions, and other law enforcement encounters in accordance with departmental policy and state law.

We recognize the importance of balancing public safety with individual privacy. Recordings are securely stored and managed to ensure integrity, while access is restricted to authorized personnel.

Our Body-Worn Camera Program reflects our ongoing commitment to professional service, community partnership, and continuous improvement.
