The Street Crimes Unit focuses on identifying, preventing, and addressing criminal activity in high-crime areas. This unit takes a proactive approach to law enforcement, working to prevent crime before it occurs by targeting hotspots, gathering intelligence, and conducting focused operations to disrupt criminal activity.

They focus on a wide range of criminal activity, including drug trafficking, gang violence, weapons offenses, prostitution, and other quality-of-life crimes that impact neighborhoods and communities. The unit frequently assists the Criminal Investigations Division in locating and apprehending suspects and in serving search and arrest warrants.  SCU Clark Back


Key responsibilities of the Street Crimes Unit:

  • Intelligence Gathering: Collecting and analyzing information on criminal activity to identify trends, suspects, and locations that require focused law enforcement attention.
  • Surveillance and Undercover Operations: Conducting covert operations to gather evidence and apprehend offenders engaged in illegal activities, such as narcotics trafficking and firearms related offenses.
  • Neighborhood Policing: Focusing on areas with elevated crime rates and working to enhance public safety through visible presence and direct intervention in problem areas.
